What happens when you visit
| What | Why | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Your IP address and browser details reach the web host (Vercel) and photo storage (Supabase) when pages and photos load. Their logs are short-lived. | Delivering the site and keeping it secure | Legitimate interests — 6(1)(f) |
| An anonymous view count goes up when you open a review. Your IP is held in server memory for up to 30 minutes so a quick reload doesn't count twice, then forgotten. Nothing is stored. | The “Most viewed” sort | Legitimate interests — 6(1)(f) |
| If you email me: your email address and message | To reply | Legitimate interests — 6(1)(f). I delete emails within 12 months unless there's an ongoing issue. |
Fonts and the world map are served from this site itself, not from Google or a map company. Town locations on the map come from the places I type, looked up on OpenStreetMap from my server; nothing about you is sent.
Vercel and Supabase act as processors under their standard data processing agreements. Where they handle data outside the EEA, it's covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
Visitors get none. The site doesn't set cookies or use your browser's storage. The only cookie it ever sets is a login cookie for me, the owner, when I sign in to write reviews.
People in photos
I try not to photograph other people. If you can be recognised in a photo and want it removed, email me and I'll take it down.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you (realistically, only emails you've sent me), and ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@popcorn.ie. I'll reply within a month. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie or the authority where you live.
